A housewife at Narayanpur village in Chowgachha under Jessore district has committed suicide for her failure to pay back the loan installment from an NGO.

The deceased was identified as Hena Begum (45), wife of Mahmud Ali of the same village.

Police sources said that the matter will be investigated thoroughly.

Locals sources informed that the victim had arranged for loans to another woman of the village under her authority from several NGOs.

But the NGO representatives started forcing her to pay back the loan installments in due time.

The deceased was humiliated by two NGO agents naming Jagoroni Chakra Foundation and ASA a day before her suicide. Later she hung herself.

A similar incident took place a couple of months before in another village of the same Upazilla. A woman committed suicide for her failure of paying the loan installment.
