BartaBangla Report :: Bangladesh have secured their berth in the AFC Challenge Cup final round set to take place next year in the Maldives.
Bangladesh had emerged runners-up from Group D in the qualifying round at the beginning of this month in Nepal after defeating the hosts. But they had to wait for confirmation of their place in the final round.
The wait ended when Kyrgyzstan defeated Tajikistan 1-0 on Thursday. Matches of four out of five groups have ended until now.
Bangladesh, India and Kyrgyzstan have managed to secure six points each as they became runners-up from three groups. But Bangladesh, ahead on goal difference, confirmed their place in the final round as the best runners-up.
Laos also secured a spot in the finals with five points.
The champions of the five groups, two best runner-ups and hosts Maldives will play in the final round.
