The government has formed a five-member committee to make it clear whether there was any deviation from law in dealing with the incident of Barguna Sadar UNO Tariq Salman, reports news agency UNB.
The committee was formed on 22 July, Cabinet Secretary M Shafiul Alam told while briefing reporters after Monday’s cabinet meeting.
He said the Additional Secretary of the Cabinet division will lead the committee and submit its report within 15 working days.
Responding to a query, the Cabinet Secretary said the letter sent by the Divisional Commissioner of Barisal to the Cabinet division to take proper measures against Tariq has been ‘filed’.
“That means we didn’t find anything against him,” he said.
Shafiul Alam said the Cabinet Division will take further steps anyone, if necessary, once the report from the newly formed committee is received.
