At least six people, including four members of a family were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Kazir Rasta area of Madhukhali upazila in Faridpur on Friday night.
The deceased are-Khairoon Bibi, 35; her father Karim Gazi, 54; his relative Nazmul Gazi, 40; Nazmul’s wife Asifa Begum, microbus driver Anisur Rahman, 25, and his nephew, Zahid Hasan, 18.
Police said according to witnesses, a Dhaka-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan from Jessore knocked a Satkhira-bound microbus in the area around 10:30am, leaving three microbus passengers dead on the spot and injuring five others.
Faridpur fire service station manager Saifuzzaman said of the five, three succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
Karimpur highway police sub-inspector Nawsher Ali confirmed the incident.
