Two muggers sustained injuries in an exchange of gunshots with a team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in front of a market in Azimpur area of the capital on Tuesday afternoon, the elite force claim.

Photo: Hasan Raja“When the RAB men challenged them, they fired gunshots aiming the elite force members, prompting them to retaliate. The incident left two of the muggers injured while the others managed to flee the scene,” he added.
The RAB boss further said the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and they both are out of danger.
Two pistols and bullets were seized.
Earlier on 13 July, two people were injured in a “gunfight” with RAB men near the Dhakeswari temple in the city.
Later, one succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
