BartaBangla Desk :: Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by 121 runs in the first ODI match at Bulawayo Friday.
Zimbabwe scored 148 runs in 32.1 over while chasing Bangladesh-set 270-run-target.
BRM Taylor and H Masakadza scored 33 and 38 runs respectively before returning to pavilion.
Ziaur Rahman bagged five wickets and Shafiul Islam got two wickets.
Earlier, Bangladesh scored 269 runs losing eight wickets in the stipulated over.
Mahmudullah and Ziaur Rahman were on the crease with 20 and 10 run respectively in 45-over while total runs were 231/6.
Nasir Hossain, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful scored 68, 38, 36, 31 and 29 runs respectively.
SW Masakadza bagged four and TL Chatara got two wickets.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe captain won the toss and chose to field.
Apart from this, Bangladesh will play two more ODI matches against Zimbabwe.
The next matches will be played on May 5 and 8.
Earlier the test series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe tie with 1-1.
In 1st Test match, Zimbabwe won by big margin with 335 runs and in the 2nd one Bangladesh come back and won by 143 runs.
