sakib12BartaBangla Desk ::Shakib Al Hasan was announced to lead the Gazi Tank Cricketers in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League albeit the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to reduce his six-month suspension from all sort of cricketing activities. Gazi Tank owner Lutfur Rahman Badal disclosed it yesterday when his club took part in players transfer in a special commission in his office at Karwan Bazar in the capital.
The other clubs usually completes their transfer process in CCDM office at Bangabandhu National Stadium but Badal always makes it in his office by special commission which requires to inform the CCDM office two hours ago of the transfer process stars and Tk. 5,000.
“It is Shakib, who will lead Gazi Tank Cricketers in the ensuing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Tamim will take the charge if Shakib fails to get the permission from BCB,” said Lutfur Rahman Badal.
Shakib appealed to the board to reconsider his suspension. The board said they will decide about it in a meeting. But the date of the meeting is yet to be confirmed.
Gazi Tank filled their pool quota with Tamim Iqbal and Rubel Hossain. They also took Shakib in this quota but the ace all-rounder is not considered in pool this time following his six-month ban from cricket.
Badal said he would not take any player in pool quota in protest of the suspension of Shakib.
“If Shakib could not play the league I’ll play with one pool player in protest.”
He hinted that Shakib and Tamim remains the highest paid player in this season albeit earlier it is reported Mushfiqur Rahim got the highest payment.
“They didn’t get less than what Mushfiqur Rahim got,” he said.
The Gazi Tank owner though didn’t reveal about the amount, insider said they both got Tk. 50 lakh. On the other hand, Mushfiqur Rahim got Tk. 45 lakh from Prime Doleshwar but the club gave him some additional advantages.
Tamim Iqbal said the Gazi Tank always forms the team to be champion, echoing the sentiment of the club owner.
“Gazi tank formed a balanced team and I hope we’ll deliver our best in the ground. Hopefully we’ll end up being champions once again.”
Anamul Haque Bijoy who joined Kalabgan Cricket Academy was also present during that time. The KCA was bought by one of Badal’s close friends, claimed Badal.
Surprisingly when Bijoy completed the transfer process in Badal’s office, another pool player of KCA Sabbir Rahman Rumman went to CCDM to complete his process.
