sakib al hasanBartaBangla Report :: Bangladesh Cricket Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was yesterday fined 75 percent of his match fees after pleading guilty to showing serious dissent at an umpire’s decision during the second ODI between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday.
Shakib had reached 34 during Bangladesh’s innings, and was given out leg before to Zimbabwe off-spinner Prosper Utseya. The ball seemed headed down the leg side and there was also an inside edge. Shakib’s immediate reaction was to angrily swing the bat into his pad, and in that motion the bat brushed opposition skipper and wicketkeeper Brendan Taylor’s pad. The left-hander subsequently apologised to the keeper.Taylor meanwhile was fined 20 percent of his match fees for a slow over rate as his side was one over short at the cutoff stage during Bangladesh’s innings.
