BartaBangla Desk :: The first death anniversary of noted writer, playwright, director and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed is being observed in the country on Friday in a befitting manner.
To observe the day, different socio-cultural organisations have taken elaborate programmes to celebrate the death anniversary of Humayun Ahmed.
Television channels are airing various programmes including drama in memory of Humayun Ahmed.
Different events are scheduled to be conducted at Nuhash Polli of the Pirjali village of Gazipur, the favourite destination of the noted litterateur.

On the occasion of the writer’s first death anniversary 500 orphan children have been invited.
A prayer will be held after Juma followed by recitation of the holy Quran for the departed soul.
On July 19 last year, Humayun Ahmed breathed his last in Bellevue Hospital in USA at the age of 64 after a nine-month battle against colon cancer.
Born in Mymensingh in 1948, he did his graduation from the Dhaka University and later joined the university as a lecturer of Chemistry but later became a fulltime writer and filmmaker.
