German company HeidelbergCement Group Chairman Bernd Scheifele has said that he is ‘really impressed’ with Bangladesh’s progress.

The chairman of the Germany-based multinational company came to Dhaka on last  Thursday and left on Saturday, the firm said in a media release.

He told a media briefing that he was ‘really impressed’ with the progress Bangladesh has made in the last couple of years, the release said.

He also shared that the main structure of Padma Bridge is being built with ScanCement, one of the two brands in Bangladesh. The other brand is RubyCement.

Scheifele has been the chairman of HeidelbergCement since February 2004.

He also worked with the renowned law firm Gleiss Lutz Hootz Hirsch at its headquarters in Stuttgart from 1988 to 1994.
