BartaBangla Report :: Ending abstinence of the holy month of Ramadan, the Muslims across the country are celebrating their largest religious festival Eid-ul-Fitr today amid due fervor and solemnity.
The celebration began with the offering of Eid prayers by tens of millions of Muslims from all strata of life at mosques and eidgahs throughout the country.
They prayed for divine blessings for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Police and the anti-crime elite force RAB provided a foolproof security to the areas around the National Eidgah and all other Eid jamaat venues and their vicinity. However, no untoward incidents were reported from anywhere during the Eid congregations.
The main Eid jamaat (congregation) was held on the National Eidgah Maidan adjacent to the High Court building in the capital at 8:30 this morning amid well-managed preparations while the country’s biggest one took place at Sholakia Eidgah of Kishoreganj.
Khatib of Baitul Mokarram National Mosque Prof Maulana Mohammad Salah Uddin conducted the Eid prayers at the main jamaat attended by thousands of people from all walks of life.
President Abdul Hamid Advocate offered his Eid-ul-Fitr prayers on the National Eidgah Maidan and exchanged Eid greetings with the devotees.
Chief Justice of Bangladesh Justice Md. Muzammel Hossain, ministers, state ministers, judges of the Supreme Court, members of parliament, senior political leaders, diplomats of different Muslim countries and high civil and military officials also offered prayers at the main Eid jamaat in the capital.
A special munajat was held seeking divine blessings for peace and development of the country, welfare of the people and greater unity and integrity of the Muslim Ummah.
The Eid jamaat was held under the auspices of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC). Special arrangements were also made for women and foreign diplomats to offer their Eid prayers at the venue.
Besides, five massive Eid jamaats were held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque with one-hour interval from 7:00am to 11:00 am.
In Dhaka, other Eid jamaats were held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban, Dhaka University Central Mosque, Gulshan Central Mosque and Eidgah, Lalbagh Mosque, Shyamoli SOS Shishu Palli Jame Mosque, Dewanbagh Babe Rahmat, Sayedabad Darbarsharif Baro Jame Mosque, Masjide Gausul Azam Abdul Quader Jilani, Dakkhin Goran Banosri Jame Mosque and Dania Jame Mosque.
Besides, Eid congregations were also held on Khilkhet Kurmitola High School Eidgah Maidan, Matuail Eidgah Maidan, RK Mission Road Brothers Union Ground, Banani Pak Darbar Sharif, Kantaban Jame Mosque, Dhaka University Playground, Salimullah Hall Gate Ground, Uttara Jame Mosque Foundation, Shantibagh Shahi Jame Mosque, Abu Jar Gifari College Ground, Malibagh Jame Mosque, Hazaribagh Park, Tikatuli Jame Mosque and Uttar Kafrul Jheelpar Jame Mosque.
Eid jamaats also took place at Gulshan 1st Jame Mosque, Khilgaon Pallima Sangsad, Maghbazar Kazi Office Lane Baitul Quran Masjid, Sheikhdi Al Hera Jame Mosque at Jatrabari, Fazlul Haq Muslim Hall, Lalbagh Shahi Jame Mosque, Lalbagh Kella Jame Mosque, Al Madina Jame Mosque, Senpara Parbata Eidgah and Nayapaltan Jame Mosque, Mirpur-12 D Block Eidgah, Baitul Falah Complex at Pallabi, Maghbazar T&T Jame Mosque and Matuail Eidgah.
More Eid jamaats were held in different areas of the metropolis including Hospital Jame Mosque, Khejurbagan Jame Mosque, APBN Jame Mosque, Baitul Noor Jame Mosque, Shantinagar Jame Mosque, Garangira Complex and Mohammadpur Jame Mosque, Old Police Lines Jame Mosque, Islampur Jame Mosque, and Armanitola Play Ground.
Under the auspice of the Dhaka City Corporation (DCC), Eid congregations were also held at all eidghas and important mosques in all the wards of Dhaka metropolis.
Outside of the capital, Eid jamaats were held across the country, particularly in the divisional cities and district towns.
