BartaBangla Report :: The newly appointed Chief Justice, Surendra Kumar Sinha, was sworn into office on Saturday.
The president, Abdul Hamid, administered the sworn in a ceremony at the Bangabhaban about 11: 05am this morning.
The prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, Speaker, Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, cabinet members and Supreme Court judges among others, were present at the ceremony.
The president on January 12 appointed the senior most Appellate Division judge SK Sinha as the country’s 21st chief justice.
Judge SK Sinha replaced the outgoing chief justice, MD Muzammel Hossain who retired on Friday.
