Today is the Armed Forces Day in Bangladesh. The nation has been celebrating the Day amid due respect and paying homage to martyred members of Bangladesh Armed Forces during the liberation war in 1971.
Annually, on November 21, the day is observed in the country. The President and the Prime Minister paid their tribute for the martyred members of Bangladesh Armed Forces marking the day. And they took part in event arranged by the Forces in Dhaka Cantonment.
The President and the Premier have also issued different messages on the day towards the Armed Forces members.
In his message, the President M Abdul Hamid has urged the member of Armed Forces to continue their duties after following the leadership to uphold their status.
The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in the message, expected that the Armed Forces members will execute their respective duties with patriotism, professionalism and based on higher moral principles.
The government is trying to modernize Bangladesh Armed Forces, said the Premier. The Government has set ‘Forces Goal 2030’, the PM added.
Later, a contingent of forces made of Army, Navy and Air Force, presented a salute. The President and the Prime Minister took part in the ceremony separately.
Chiefs of staff of the three forces later made a courtesy call on the Prime Minister.
