BartaBangla Report :: A cheque of Tk 5 crore was handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 as donation to Prime Minister’s relif and welfare fund from Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited for the victims of Savar building collapse. The bank gave the money as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Prof. Abu Nasser Mohammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman of the Bank handed over the cheque in presence of Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP, Finance Minister and Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Bangladesh Bank. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Islami Bank was present.
Besides, a cheque worth Tk 84,50,000 (Eighty four lac fifty thousand) equivalent to one day’s salary of executives and officials of the Bank was handed over to Nurul Amin, Chairman, Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB).
