A court here on Wednesday convicted four people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 1993.
The convicts are — Abdul Motaleb, Abdul Hariz, Chanu and Shahid.
According to the prosecution, Tofazzal, son of Abdul Khalek of Phulpur upazila, was killed by the convicts over previous enmity on July 7, 1993.
Later, a case was filed with Phulpur Police Station.
On May 16, 1999, Mymensingh Additional District and Sessions Judge Laila Banu acquitted the four convicts from the charges. Later, a revision petition was filed with the Supreme Court which sent the case to Mymensingh Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-2 to review the petition on July 10, 2014.
After examining records and witnesses, Mymensingh District and Sessions Judge Zahirul Kabir handed down the verdict.
