The police members, in Atrai Upazila in Naogaon district, have held five suspected activists Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (popularly known as JMB). Conducting several raids, the suspects were held from different parts of the district in the early hours of Thursday.

Mobarak Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Atrai Police Station said that the raids were conducted in different areas of the Upazilla.

They conducted the raids based on secret information and the raids began at around 4.00am.

Sources from the law enforcers informed that raids have recovered foreign made pistols, bullets and a huge amount of explosives in their possession.

The firearms and explosives were supposed to be used to create anarchy across the country.

Thorough investigation of the matter is underway.
