D U vBartaBangla Report :: Shahbagh intersection turned into battlefield on Thursday morning when police clashed with the candidates of the recently held 34th BCS examinations, demanding re-evaluation of BCS preliminary results and cancellation of quota provisions in public service recruitment.

The clash ensued when the demonstrators staged demontration near Shahbagh intersection for the second day around 11 am. It caused huge traffic chaos in and around the intersection.

Police charged baton and fired tear shells to disperse the protesters. The students also threw brick chips on police triggering a clash in the area.

The students vandalised two private cars at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) on the  Dhaka University campus.

On Wednesday, the Public Service Commission (PSC) had decided to review the results of the 34th BCS preliminary test.
