BartaBangla Report :: Adilur Rahman, secretary of a local rights group Odhikar, has been placed on five-day remand in connection with publishing a report on casualties during crackdown on Hefajat-e-Islam rally on May 5.
Earlier on Saturday night , plainclothes police arrested him from in front of his Gulshan residence.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, intercepted Odhikar secretary as he reached near his house at Road No-117, House no-35 at Gulshan around 10:00 pm.
Later, he was taken to DB headquarters at Mintoo Road in the city for interrogation.
DB sources said he misused his e-mail and facebook ID against the country.
Adilur’s wife denied the allegations against him and said that police arrested her husband without arrest warrant.
