The police arrested four persons, who are said to be members of banned militant outfit ‘neo-JMB’. from Shibganj in Chapainawabganj early Saturday.
The law enforcers gave the identity of one of them as Sohel Mahfuz, one of ‘masterminds’ of Holey Artisan Bakery attack in 2016 that claimed 22 lives.
Three others were described as associates of Sohel. They were named as Hafiz, Jewel and Jamal.
The Chaipainawabganj police arrested them during a drive which was assisted by the counter-terrorism unit of the police.
“The militants are changing their shelters from time to time. They were taking preparation to hold a meeting and the police caught them based on information,” PM Muzahidul Islam, superintendent of the district police told Prothom Alo.
Sohel Mahfuz was being sent to Dhaka, he added.
