BartaBangla Desk :: A fourth class staff of Jagannath University was stabbed to death by another staff on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Kamal Hossain, 22, a daily wage based worker of Registrar’s office.
Kamal said before death that general secretary of Fourth Class Staffers’ Association of the university M Iqbal stabbed him as he knew about extra marital affair of Iqbal with Sumi, wife of another fourth class staff Harun.
Sources said Iqbal threatened his subordinate Kamal to sack from the job as he (Kamal) knew everything.
As a consequence of the incident, on Friday morning Iqbal called Kamal at Obokash Bhaban and stabbed him at one stage of altercation.
Kamal was rushed to Dhaka Medical Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Before his death, he described the incident to others.
Officer-in-Charge of Katwali Thana Abdus Salam told , “They have arrested Iqbal and Sumi in this connection according to the testimony of the deceased.”
