Police arrested one of the main suspected masterminds of the attack at Dhaka’s Holey Artisan Bakery café, from Singra thana area of Natore early Thursday.
The suspect, Aslam Hossain alias Rahsed, was arrested from Singra Bazaar bus stand area at around 5:30am, said a short message sent by counter terrorism and transnational crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Alongside the CTTC men, Bogra and Natore district police members also had taken part in the drive to nab Rashed.
Police have so far confirmed that some 20-22 people were “directly involved” in the deadly attack at upscale Holey Artisan Bakery café in city’s Gulshan that left 28 people, including 17 foreign nationals and six attackers, killed on 1 July past year.
Fifteen of the accused have already been killed in different operations of the law enforcement while three are in jail.
