Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani on Saturday took notice on a statement made by the Chairman Voice of Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) Nasrullah Baloch, in which he stated that mass graves have been discovered in Khuzdar district and three of the dead bodies have been identified which according to him are part of the missing persons list.
“Nasrullah Baloch further stated that according to Deputy Commissioner, Khuzdar as many as 25 bodies were recovered and he was expecting more. This news report reflects serious violation of Fundamental Rights provisions of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” says the apex court order.
Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani summoned Inspector General of Balochistan Police and Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar on February 4 and has ordered them to submit a detailed report on the incident.
Addressing a press conference at Balochistan House, Islamabad, the Chairman VBMP on Friday expressed serious concerns over the shocking discovery of mass graves in Tutak, about 50 kilometers from Khuzdar city and demanded an immediate and impartial inquiry.
It is pertinent to mention here that Provincial authorities of Balochistan on 25th January, 2014 discovered mass graves containing an unspecified number of dead bodies in Tutak, about 50 kilometers from Khuzdar city of Balochistan province. Most of the dead bodies were decomposed beyond recognition.
Also, the Balochistan government has constituted a judicial commission that will be headed by Balochistan High Court judge Justice Noor Mohammad Muzkanzai to investigate the matter of discovery of mass graves and it would submit its report in one month time after conducting the investigation.
Khuzdar has been one of the worst militancy-hit districts of Balochistan province and several families have migrated to other areas due to worsening law and order situation.
