BartaBangla Report :: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the framework of election-time interim government would be projected before the nation immediately for holding the next general election in a peaceful and impartial manner.
Fakhrul said this while addressing a seminar arranged by BNP Parliamentary Caucus at Parliament Members Club of the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday.
Leaders and activists of the party participated in the seminar titled Caretaker Government, Corruption Prevention and Law and Order Situation. During the seminar, a Caucus presented a framework of the election time administration.
In a separate function, Fakhrul said all democratic countries across the world are concerned about the future of the upcoming general election in Bangladesh.
Referring to the US Secretary of State John Kerry written letter, Fakhrul said they want to witness a free, fair and impartial election with the participation of all political parties.
It may be pointed out that the US Secretary of State John Kerry has written to Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia urging them to hold a dialogue to end the current deadlock over the poll-time administration.
“We want to reach a mutual compromise over election time administration through dialogue. And the dialogue will take place if BNP is assured that the next general poll would be held under a non-party neutral administration,” he added.
He was talking to reporters after placing wreaths at the grave of the party founder late president Ziaur Rahman marking the 35th founding anniversary of the party’s women front Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal.
The holding of the next general election has become uncertain due to the government’s stubborn attitudes, he alleged.
