Bartabangla Report :: Home minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir on Tuesday said that the BNP-led 18-party leaders called the ‘illegal’ hartal to stop the council of the Bangladesh nationalist Party (BNP) fearing the possible stand against the BNP’s present position by its local councillors. “All the local leaders and activists of BNP want trial of the criminals who committed crimes against the humanity in 1971. But, BNP’s central leaders do not want this and that’s why the party’s senior leaders are likely to be embarrassed if its council is hold,” he told reporters after a meeting held at the home ministry.
The home minister claimed that the people of the country have rejected the hartal.
