Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Monday placed the ‘Bangladesh Ship Recycling Bill, 2017’ in the Jatiya Sangsad seeking updated provisions for overall development of the ship recycling sector, BSS reports.
The bill proposes constituting a new authority in the name of Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board to supervise the ship recycling industry.
Later, the House sent the bill to the concerned parliamentary standing committee for scrutiny and reporting back within one month.
