National cricket team pacer Mohammad Shahid’s wife Farzana Akhter on Sunday filed a complaint with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) alleging that his ‘involvement in an extramarital relationship’ is hampering their marriage.
“They (BCB) have assured me that the problem would be solved,” she said, adding, “I shall talk to journalists openly if they fail to resolve the matter.”
The letter of complaint said Shahid and Farzana got married in 2011. Despite the lack of many material comforts, they had a happy family life. But things started to deteriorate after Shahid’s inclusion in the national side. Information about his intimate relationship with several women fans started to surface.
Both the families tried to resolve the matter but to no avail, it added.
Farzana’s letter also said that Shahid is yet to even hold 11-month-old daughter.
