BartaBangla Report :: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed filed an appeal with the Supreme Court challenging the death penalty awarded to him in war crimes cases.
Mojaheed’s counsel submitted the appeal petition in the morning with the Aappellate Division of the Supreme Court seeking his release and acquittal of the war crimes charges.
Mujaheed’s lawyer Advocate Tazul Islam confirmed it to media.
Earlier on July 17, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 sentenced Mujaheed to death for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
