BartaBangla Report :: Nine members of a militant organisation undergoing training at a Kaomi madrasa in Jhalokathi’s Nolchiti upazila have been arrested.
Police said grenades and several books on jihad were recovered in that raid.
The new recruits to the militant groups nabbed in a night operation on Wednesday at ‘Kamdebpur Kaomi Madrasa’ from Mollarhaat Union following a tip off.
A press conference was held at 11am Thursday at the office of the police superintendent with those arrested.
Those arrested were Moshiur Rahman, Abdul Bashar Mridha, Minhazul Abedin, Md Sirajul Islam, Abdul Aziz, Md Nurul Islam, Md Shohag, ‘Jobayer’ and Md Baki Billah.
They hail from various parts of Nilphamari, Gopalganj, Madaripur and Jhalokathi district.
Evidence of their involvement in militancy exists and they will face legal action said Superintendent of Police Md Mojid Ali.
“Moshiur Rahman had several meetings with Huji (Harkat-ul-Jihad) leader Abdur Rouf in prison and maintained communication with him. They all are being interrogated.”
The police official said they are trying to arrest the other members of this group.
