BartaBangla Report :: At least five people were killed and twenty others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus  and covered van on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Kandail Sadar upazila in Narshingdi early Wednesday.

Three of the deceased were identified as Saiful,18, Babu,20 and Shahin, 22, from Kararchar village of Shibpur upazilla of the district.

“The accident took place between a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Sylhet and a covered van coming from opposite direction at 5:30am, leaving five people dead on the spot,” Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Narsingdi Sadar Police Station, told The Independent.

The injured patients were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and nearby Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, the OC said.
