Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have sent another 40 Rohingya people back to Myanmar from Cox’s Bazar border points between Sunday night and Monday morning.
BGB sources said two boats carrying 12 and 28 Rohingyas, including women and children, tried to enter Bangladesh through Ukhia and Teknaf border points. As BGB stopped them on the border, the boatpeople had to go back to Myanmar.
Meanwhile, Teknaf Leda Rohingya camp managing committee president Dudu Mia said one Shah Alam, 45, who fled Myanmar in fear of army raids, succumbed to his injuries on Monday noon.
He said Shah Alam was shot in the Mangala Khal area of Myanmar during a raid. Later, he entered Bangladesh in a boat, but died for lack of treatment, Dudu Mia added.
