BartaBangla Desk ::  At least four people, including three Jubo League members were killed as a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw down on Sonaimuri–Chatkhil road under Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali.

The deceased were identified as acting President of Nanda union unit Jubo League Sumon, 36, Vice-President Emran, 40, JL member Mizanur Rahman, 38, and the auto-rickshaw driver, Badsa Mia, 35.

Ashraful Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Sonaimuri police station said: “A Chatkhil-bound passenger bus rammed the CNG-run auto-rickshaw at 9pm, leaving Mizan, Sumon and Emran dead on the spot and three others injured.”

The injured were admitted at Sonaimuri Upazila Health Complex in critical condition where on-duty doctor declared Badsha Mia dead.

Following the accident, agitated locals blocked the Sonaimuri–Chatkhil road and vandalised the bus.

Later, the police took the situation under control and removed the barricade from the road.

The police also seized the killer bus but its driver managed to flee, he said.
