One of the deceased was identified as Nuru Mia, 38, a resident of Bandar upazila in Narayanganj.

Witnesses said four passengers fell off the roof of a Narayanganj-bound train from Dhaka after getting hit by a beam of the rooftop of the station around 10:45am, killing one on the spot and injuring three others.

Among the injured, Nuru Mia was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by one Afzal Hossain where doctors pronounced him dead around 11:15am.

In Natore, a young man was killed as he fell to the ground from a speedy train at Madhanagar Railway Station in Noldanga upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Sirajul Islam, 23, son of Syed Ali of Bogra district.

Ashoke Chakrawarty, stationmaster of Natore Railway Station, said Sirajul fell down from Dinajpur-bound Ekata Express train after being hit by a pillar of a footbridge as he stretched his head out of the door of the train.

Sirajul was going home from Comilla to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, the stationmaster added.
