BartaBangla Desk :: The Officer-in-Charge of Bhujpur Police Station Shamsuddin Bhuiyan has been closed over failure to maintain the law and order situation, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Chittagong district Farid Uddin said.
The move comes two days after an attack on an anti-shutdown procession of the ruling Awami League in Fatikchharhi by the activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami and Hifazat-e Islam.

Ong Sha Thoai, an Inspector, of the same police station has been given the charge of the closed OC.
The attack, launched following ‘instigations’, on Thursday left at least three people dead and more than 150 injured in Chittagong’s Fatikchharhi Upazila.
At least 200 vehicles were also torched.
Police detained 40 people so far over the attack including an Amir of the local unit of the Jamaat.
