Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq has sought suggestions from the people on how to solve the water-logging problem in the capital.
While visiting a spot of water-logging at Songargaon crossing in the capital on Wednesday afternoon, the businessman-turned-mayor ascribed the water-logging in the capital to the earth-filling of lakes and canals.
At one stage, the mayor asked the people around him: “Would anyone of you please tell me what the solution to it [the water-logging] is?”
However, in his campaign for mayoral election in 2015, Annisul Huq said: “Problems of Dhaka have already been identified: Now it’s a journey of solving them.”
Mass transit, environment, security and public health were his priority then as he pledged.
