The government on Sunday decided to suspend production of films jointly with the producers of other countries until a policy is framed in this regard, said a press release.
The decision was taken at a meeting between the information ministry and the representatives from the film industry at the ministry in the capital.
Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu attended the meeting, chaired by information secretary Martuza Ahmed.
The meeting made a total of three decisions. The two other decisions are: quickly formulating a complete and befitting policy for joint-venture films and purchasing 50 HD projectors for cinema halls.
