BartaBangla Report :: A man has been detained at Chittagong’s Shah Amanat Airport with nearly 17 kg gold on him, Customs and Immigration police say.
Md Shahnewaz Morshed came on a United Airways flight from Muscat, Oman, on Tuesday.
The airport’s Assistant Customs Commissioner Sushanta Pal told “Flight crew searched his bag as he was drunk,”.
Assistant Commissioner of Immigration Police Md Moinuddin said they found 146 gold bars inside Morshed’s luggage.
The plane was scheduled to go to Dhaka via Chittagong, Pal said.
A case will be filed against Morshed, he said.
