Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon on Wednesday alleged accused the city\u2019s water and sewerage authority, Wasa, of insincerity in the fight to free the city of waterlogging.<\/p>\n
The DSCC mayor made the remarks while talking to reporters as he visited city\u2019s different areas, which were inundated after several days of nonstop rain.<\/p>\n
Waterlogging has reared its ugly head in different parts of the city due to the heavy rainfalls and DSCC workers are working to mitigate problems restlessly, said the mayor.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough it is duty for the Wasa workers, our workers are doing it,\u201d said Khokon, adding that no Wasa workers were seen in city roads during the waterlogging and their seriousness is low in this regard.<\/p>\n
He said there are no drainage systems in the city for passing water when it rains up to 100\/150 mm. \u201dThe problems would be resolved easily if the drainages were constructed in a planned way.\u201d<\/p>\n
DSCC Chief Executive Officer Khan Mohammad Belal, its chief engineer Forazi Shahab Uddin and other officials of the city corporation were also present during the visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
