\u201cI\u2019ve seen history unfold before my eyes,\u201d he said on Tuesday at a press briefing, concluding his two-day maiden Bangladesh visit. He celebrated Bangladesh\u2019s \u201caccomplishments\u201d in dramatically reducing poverty on the \u2018End Poverty Day\u2019 on Monday and also took a close look at how the country is adapting to challenges posed by climate change through visiting southern Barisal district.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been very impressed with what I\u2019ve seen in Bangladesh \u2013 the many examples of innovation in fighting poverty, empowering women, and battling climate change; the warmth from so many people who have welcomed me; and the strength of your leadership inside and outside government, including many who fought for the independence of this nation,\u201d he said.
