{"id":2171,"date":"2013-09-08T19:29:48","date_gmt":"2013-09-08T13:29:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/?p=2171"},"modified":"2013-09-08T19:29:48","modified_gmt":"2013-09-08T13:29:48","slug":"no-election-without-cg-oversight-khaleda-at-narshingdi-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartabangla.com\/english\/no-election-without-cg-oversight-khaleda-at-narshingdi-rally\/","title":{"rendered":"No election without CG oversight, Khaleda at Narshingdi rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/khaleda-at-shapla.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-478\" alt=\"khaleda at shapla\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/khaleda-at-shapla.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>BartaBangla Desk :: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that her party opposition will not participate in the general election unless it is overseen by a non-party caretaker government.<\/p>\n<p>The opposition leader was addressing a public rally at Balurmath in Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Sunday afternoon with a view to strengthening the ongoing movement for restoration of a non-partisan caretaker government by generating public support for the demand.<\/p>\n<p>Khaleda said that the opposition would not allow the government to hold one-sided election.<\/p>\n<p>Khaleda started her journey for Narsingdi from her Gulshan residence around 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>BNP-led 18-party alliance is arranging the rally scheduled to begin around 2:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>There has already been huge enthusiasm among the people of Narsingdi and its adjoining districts centring the rally as Khaleda is at Narsingdi after nearly two decades.<\/p>\n<p>The visit is considered the starting point of the formal election campaign of Khaleda Zia as the BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance has decided to simultaneously carry out its movement and election campaign.<\/p>\n<p>On August 19, a day after the Prime Minister\u2019s announcement that her government would not budge even an inch from the constitutional provision in holding the next general election, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the schedules of the rallies at a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>After Narsingdi, Khaleda will address rallies in Rangpur on September 15 while Rajshahi on September 16, Khulna on September 22, Barisal on September 29 and Sylhet on October 5.<\/p>\n<p>She will also address rallies in Dhaka and Chittagong after Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BartaBangla Desk :: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that her party opposition will not participate in the general election unless it is overseen by a non-party caretaker government.
