{"id":2043,"date":"2013-08-12T12:13:00","date_gmt":"2013-08-12T06:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/?p=2043"},"modified":"2013-08-12T12:13:00","modified_gmt":"2013-08-12T06:13:00","slug":"felani-murder-trial-begins-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartabangla.com\/english\/felani-murder-trial-begins-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Felani murder trial begins Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/felani-death-01.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2044\" alt=\"felani death 01\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/felani-death-01.jpg\" width=\"280\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a>BartaBangla Desk :: <\/strong>Over two and half years into the incident, the trial of the murder of Bangladeshi girl Felani will begin on Tuesday at a special court constituted by Border Security Force (BSF) in Cooch Behar of India.<\/p>\n<p>Felani, a 15-year-old girl, was shot dead by the BSF men while she was entering Bangladesh over the barbed-wire fences along Anantapur border point in Kurigram district on January 7, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Two Bangladeshi witnesses, a lawyer and a Borger Guard Bangladesh (BGB) representative will go to India on August 19 to make their depositions before the court.<\/p>\n<p>The witnesses are Felani\u2019s father M Nurul Islam and maternal uncle M Abdul Hanif while the BGB representative is commanding officer of BGB Battalion-45 Lt Col Ziaul Haque Khaled. Kurigram public prosecutor Abraham Lincoln will be there as the lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the BGB\u2019s consistent efforts, the BSF headquarters formed the General Security Force Court to punish those responsible for the incident after an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>After the investigation, the BSF submitted the charge sheet against its constable Amiya Ghosh who shot the Bangladeshi innocent girl.<\/p>\n<p>Felani who used to work as a domestic help in New Delhi along with her father was returning home from India on January 7, 2011 to tie her knot.<\/p>\n<p>Although her father crossed into Bangladesh by scaling the barbed-wire fence, she failed to do so as her clothes got entangled with the barbed wires.<\/p>\n<p>Later, she was shot dead by the BSF men.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BartaBangla Desk :: Over two and half years into the incident, the trial of the murder of Bangladeshi girl Felani will begin on Tuesday at a special court constituted by Border Security Force (BSF) in Cooch Behar of India.
