{"id":2036,"date":"2013-08-12T12:59:04","date_gmt":"2013-08-12T06:59:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/?p=2036"},"modified":"2013-08-12T12:59:04","modified_gmt":"2013-08-12T06:59:04","slug":"hc-stays-remand-order-on-adilur-rahman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bartabangla.com\/english\/hc-stays-remand-order-on-adilur-rahman\/","title":{"rendered":"HC stays remand order on Adilur Rahman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/adil-remand.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2030\" alt=\"adil remand\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bartabangla.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/adil-remand-300x184.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a>BartaBangla Desk :: <\/strong>The High Court (HC) on Monday stayed the 5-day remand order a day after a Dhaka court granted the remand of Adilur Rhaman Khan, secretary of human rights watchdog Odhikar.<\/p>\n<p>The HC bench comprising Justice Borhan Uddin Ahmed and Kashifa Hossain passed the order upon a writ petition challenging the legality of the remand.<\/p>\n<p>The court also issued a rule upon the government asking it as to why the remand order against Adilur Rahman would not be declared illegal.<\/p>\n<p>The HC order, however, says Adilur could be interrogated at the jail gate, if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Sunday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey passed the order rejecting Adilur Rahman\u2019s bail petition filed by his lawyer Supreme Court Bar Association President Mohammad Ali.
